Changing Tactics

Amidst the 'facebook-gone-public' hype and a recent article we hit upon about blogging, (re-named slogging) because no one is reading anything anyone laboriously puts out anymore; we thought long and hard about how we could serve our customers while maintaining our blog. So we're changing tactics and will be posting very brief  and more environmentally meaningful info, which may actually be of value to those floating about in cyberworld. We'll post interesting articles we find related to water conservation, fracking safeguards, water safety and water footprints, etc. We may douse the posts with Aquaverve style humor on occasion.

Does Water Keep Humans Swimming In Circles?

When one pictures Disney, Florida theme parks generally come to mind. But behind a sea of cartoons and major motion pictures, Disney researchers have quietly doing what they do all along. Recently, they've been crafting new ways to examine the age old idea that water is intrinsically tied to all aspects of our existence. Take for instance the Touche' - a new technology that enables any object, including water, to recognize human gestures via an interpretation of electrical signals. According to researchers, depending on electrical pressure applied, a doorknob can now detect whether it is being pinched, grasped, tapped or thrown across a room too, we gather. Apparently, water also has the ability to detect variable electrical signals.  Sharks have always known this of course, (JAWS I, II & III) but humans always seem to think that they're the first to discover everything. Currently, scientists are seeking useful applications so that ultimately, mass consumer use will undoubtedly bring in even higher revenue for the big D. Perhaps it's just a matter of time before all of us can multi-task while taking a bath, just by tiddling the water this way and that. Until that day comes, Aquaverve water coolers shall remain 'simply' efficient and will continue to offer high quality water to home owners all across America. With an Aquaverve water cooler, the water instantly hits the cup... ironically...with just the flick of a finger.

Is Bottling Coconut Water Coconuts?

Typically, when the more common folk of the planet begin to think about improving their health with new habits, they need only flip on the TV or peruse a grocery store magazine rack to view the countless healthy bodied-ones touting the latest gimmicks of the health industry. A little too often in life, we are egged on by the media to follow the habits of those who are wealthy enough to hire personal trainers, plastic surgeons and private nutritionists. The question is - how smart are the celebrities we attempt to imitate and do they really care about the planet after all? Coconut water is the latest rage and many A-listers have joined the bandwagon of sucking bottles of it. The underlying question with witnesssing this 'hottie' new practice rises once again. How is harvesting a foreign island plant, watering it down, bottling it and shipping it to the United States economical and eco friendly?

Perhaps the idea of bottling coconut water is just that - coconuts. Perhaps the bottled
water industry should consider growing more green algae in local communities and marketing that. With a little plant green flowing through our veins, we all might start to think a little more clearly when it comes to being more planet friendly. Aquaverve, the ever steady and sensible water cooler company surfaces to offer yet again, affordable, clean and healthy ways to drink the water we have on hand...with a twist to boot. Aquaverve's commercial grade coolers come in trend-setting, designer colors and styles so that even common people can be hip, hot and cool, locally!

The Case Of The Spiny Water Flea

Is there such a thing as a spiny water flea? And if so, is it as bothersome as a household flea is to a cat or dog? The spiny water flea some researchers have warned is indeed a destructive and invasive threat to Lake Champlain, as much as the common flea is to Fido or Fifi. Spiny fleas dine on small zooplankton, which happens to be 'bigger fish' food - hence, an invasion can be an environmental problem that spreads out on many levels. They can be transported in bilge water, bait buckets, anchor ropes, and fishing nets, which means that if not treated - a small infiltration can turn into a nasty invasion. Discovered in 1984 in Lake Huron, they spread to every great lake by 1987, to the point that they are now considered a permanent member of the Great Lakes eco system. As it is thought that freighters initially transported them by pumping water from their hold areas, now even small boats who dump water can help offset an invasion. Where there was once worry about chlorine, flouride and other such chemicals in our drinking water, now there's one more critter to be watchful of. Therefore a water cooler with a great filtration system might be a good idea to hatch right about now!

NJ Quandry - To Fluoridate Or Not

It was once strongly thought several decades ago that fluoridation added to a town's water supply would help to alleviate a public health issue regarding oral health. Fast forward in time and emerging studies that fluoridation did damage to tooth enamel caused thoughts to the contrary, that were equally as strong. Ever since, it seems that medical doctors, environmental groups, water companies and the local governments have not been able to make a single decision as to whether it's good for us or not. In January 2012, the NJ Public Water Supply Fluoridation Act was reintroduced in legislation again. This raises a debate whereas all parties involved, have begun to express their opinions, their conflicting research and occasional objections...all over again. Environmental groups are concerned about contaminants in the flouride and water companies are concerned about the costs involved in installing systems to disperse it. The CDC has teetered on both sides, as numerous studies have been done on the damaging effects of excess fluoridation on teeth, while certain test locations have proven increased oral health with the use of fluoride. The questions that arise are then - how do cities provide and regulate safe levels of fluoride to the population? What are the long term effects of fluoride on plants and rivers who take in the run off and how do we determine once and for all that the use of fluoride is better than the non-use of it? Aquaverve suggests that while the research and debates continue; homeowners continue to safeguard their water - in whatever ways they deem necessary. Of course, Aquaverve has a few helpful suggestions!

Study Says 3 Out Of 4 People Dehydrated

It's a truth we know so well and yet the habit to dismiss things most obvious, is a mysteriouly stubborn human condition it seems. Everyone KNOWS that the human body is at least, made up of 70% water, if not more. Everyone knows that water is the great toxin flusher. And yet despite this general knowledge, it's apparent that not many people have paid attention. Cornell Medical Center estimates that perhaps as many as three out of four Americans are chronically dehydrated; with 'chronic' being a key word. If one chronically forgets to water a house plant, usually it withers until it finally chokes and dies. If one chronically forgets to feed the cat, ultimately one pays a mighty big bill to the vet to save him from renal failure. If one chronically forgets to check the fish tank, evaporation sets in and the aqua environment turns to swampy muck. Which similarily, could be what our organs might actually resemble after feeding it man made dead foods all day. Perhaps it's time to forget the big debate between bottled and tap water and simply drink the best water that's readily available...and often. Aquaverve makes it easy to do. Installation is a snap and the coolly styled housing units are designed to match any decor.

Proprietary Compounds - A Liscense to Kill?

The debate between big companies and environmentalists may go on forever, but in the meantime, we all have to live on the planet. There seems to be a huge discrepancy between the ethical behaviors exhibited by most living souls and the few who have found a way to benefit during their short term incarnational experience. These individuals will argue until death that the 'ends' to which they are all currently reaping (to extreme excess), justifies the means. Unfortunately, Earth is not set up as an official Karma school, whereas an action produces a direct & global reaction back to the individual who's taken it. Very often, Karma never bounces back to those who have blatantly stepped beyond the boundaries of moral codes. What to do...what to do with these incorrigable souls, we all ask? One such example of the craftiness of those benefitting, is through the legal system, which ironically, humans initially set up for the protection of humans. However, so deep in our legalese are we now, that the richest individuals in the world (and their companies) are protected under what's known as 'Proprietary Compounds'. Meaning; environmentalists out to save the Earth can't get a bird's eye view into the chemicals used in the fracking process. So the water that's being recycled back into the ground after being used, remains a huge mystery, in terms of the many toxic chemicals it may be harboring. Lack of disclosure prevents medical specialists to even know how to treat those poisoned. In the short term, many will become diseased and leave this Earth, most likely in debt to medical bills while the fat cats will ultimately depart Earth's bounty enshrined in golden coffins...without a clue as to how they helped to cripple the planet, her peoples, her animals and her plants. Are there Karma Lords waiting to receive us into the big hereafter? We'll never know. Will humanity's current issues ever resolve themselves? Most likely not. But in the meantime, those who have a conscience, can rest easy in the fact that they have some health protections in place. Aquaverve remains steadfast in it's mission to provide healthy alternatives to drinking frack-tainted well water.

New Study - BPA Chemicals Affecting Young Girls

The more we become actively focused on environmental issues, the more it seems we are finding that all man-made products are creating some form of toxic effect upon either our environment or on the human population. The latest research to come out in the plastic water bottle industry focuses on the chemical BPA that has been causing illness especially in female children who have been exposed to BPA before birth. What's astounding is that of 240 women tested, 97% of them were found to have BPA in their urine, as did that same percentage register also in their now born children. Since BPA is an estrogen-like chemical, it has been seen to have a connection to anxious behavior in young females. While there has been much focus in the bottled water industry on BPA in drinking water bottles, many more plastic products that we use on an everyday basis also come into play. Studies such as this latest research drives into global mindset the sobering fact that until we completely align our creativity with the life-giving properties of Mother Nature, we will continue to experience the adverse effects of our man-made products. As consumers, clearing ourselves of all plastic product purchases might be an effective accelerator toward ushering in new forms of environmentally friendly products. BPA, flouridation, clorox and other such chemicals we've become so dependant upon are part of a giant mix that will have to be 're-thought' - if we are to restore health of not only our planet but within our bodies as well. Aquaverve has for more than a decade, held one safe alternative to the bottled water industry. It's called, going 'Bottleless'.

Water Studies & Hydraulic Fracturing

Hydraulic fracturing and it's resultant health threat to humans and the environment has become the new heath-watch trend, as hundreds of blogs have directed people's focus toward the idea that fracturing may now cause human illness due to ground water contamination. Now pediatricians are becoming involved, so much so as to call state governors to order studies as to how fracturing might expose residents to air and water pollution. Why pediatricians? It seems that children are more susceptible to environmental toxins as they absorb chemicals at a higher rate due to smaller body mass. Since everyone knows that a 'Mommy' can instantly become a raging bull when her child is threatened, it seems likely that pediatricians are experiencing a higher rate of patient visits. While it's long been known that toxic chemicals are employed in hydraulic fracturing; in the beginning, no one was worried about where the chemicals would go, once used. Now it seems that too many people, both young and old are becoming sick in areas where there is alot of fracturing taking place. Aquaverve offers one small but safe alternative to ground water pollution. Just pop a filtered water cooler in the house, hook it up to the water line, sip and breath easy.
